You have an image or thought running through your mind and the repetition of it becomes your mantra. There is an obsession involved with embroidery, the completed work becomes the finish line and every stitch acts like a checkpoint. My work reflects an initial thought, emotional reaction, or observation that pass through and linger in my mind. I try my best to work immediately, not letting these ideas ruminate and become clouded with other feelings and images. This one idea becomes my mantra and guides my hands to let the work flow organically.  The work process fascinates me and I love both the frustrations and the joys it brings with it. I accept all mistakes and move forward with them, they are the honest moments we should not have to hide. The honey is always sweeter when the bee is honest.
